In the early 24th Century, the I.S.S. Durga-Kali discovered an Earth-like world with two moons, making its first struggling steps into space. There, the Empire found a most useful resource - not dilithium, not a strategically valuable staging-post for future expansion...
The Vulcan captain of the Durga-Kali arrived on the planet, known to its natives as "Abode", only to receive a most curious welcome. Many of the people believed him to be one of a race of supposedly mythical spirits that were deeply ingrained in the planet's culture. As the world learned about Captain Sorjek and his vessel from beyond the heavens, and news spread, these spirits began to emerge from their secluded, shadowy hiding-places, sensing a possible kinship, and a path back to the stars from whence they had come, thousands of years before...
It is now 2370, and the "elves" of Abode are now in control of their world, the most powerful of their kind unseating the "Tall Ones", and they are a key part of the Empire's Starfleet. For the first time, an elf, Captain Blackfire, now commands a starship - the I.S.S. Ghidorah - and she may be about to make history as Imperial expansion continues...

This is where YOU come in. There are over a thousand opportunities aboard the Ghidorah, waiting for you to take advantage of them. There will be less than a hundred elves on board, however, but just about any STAR TREK race can be represented on the ship. There are certain to be a few Vulcans - but the rest is up to YOU.
The setting is essentially "NEXT GENERATION", but the Empire is as depicted in the Classic Series episode "MIRROR, MIRROR" - right down to the uniforms, with only minor alterations (see below!). Just assume the cross-over never happened, and the arrival of the elves has allowed the collapse Mirror-Spock predicted to be averted for the time being.
To sign on, e-mail me your character description (race, rank, personality, ambitions etc.), using the form you can access via the "ENROLL" links to :-
and we'll see how things work out. ELFQUEST fans take note - wolf-friends and the like are most welcome as well, but don't be afraid to let the era and the technology influence your creation!
I'd also strongly recommend that you read the book "Dark Mirror" by Diane Duane, which was written well before any of the Mirror-Universe episodes of DEEP SPACE NINE, and chronicles the Enterprise D's encounter with Mirror-counterparts more in keeping with the original classic episode, which in itself is a must-see.
The key positions on the ship - Captain, First Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Engineer and Chief of Security - are at present filled, mostly by "non-player" characters. The exception is Chief of Security who is, for the time being, Lieutenant Starsword.
The position of Tactical Officer is still TECHNICALLY available, although Commander Paxton usually leaps up to the weapons console whenever battle looms, and he is very good at that job. It will take a very special - and brave - character to wrest the honour from the Ghidorah's half-Klingon First Officer. Take up this challenge, and you will be expected to provide the story of how the challenge was met!
Openings exist for purely military personnel, as a ship the size of the Ghidorah is expected to carry troops for surface engagements. These troops often accompany the ship's officers on away missions, and do a lot of the "dirty work" - and in the Empire, there's plenty of "dirty work" to do!
Crew members do not HAVE to be the product of the Academy - for many, entry into the Imperial Starfleet is via enlistment, and for them, the ladder of power starts at the rank of Yeoman. Life can be tough, with even lowly Ensigns able to give you orders, but many avenues for advancement into the officers' ranks exist.
If you're unfamiliar with the elves of ELFQUEST, then worry not - we are always looking for personnel from other worlds in the Empire. If there's a STAR TREK race that interests you, then we're sure to find them a place amongst the crew. You will find many of our members who can explain all you need to know.
