The Klingons have been involved in a number of conflicts with the Empire over the last hundred years, but the Klingon Empire has often disavowed any connection with forces hostile to the Empire, thus avoiding all-out Imperial attack. This excuse failed to carry any weight when the Klingon Empire was found to be assisting the Romulans in 2363, and 16.5% of Klingon territory was lost to their enemies before the Empire deemed that the lesson had been learned.

Factions in the Klingon High Command remain eager to lock horns with the Empire, but at present, and for the foreseeable future, this looks to be little more than wishful thinking.

Annexed Territory

Most notable of the worlds annexed by the Empire is the planet Elaas, which has welcomed membership of the Empire. The Elaasians took advantage of this, using captured Klingon weapons to attack and destroy their long-standing adversaries, the neighouring planet Troyius.
